What you're listening to is the developing sound of Coeur in its pure, noisy state. This live recording was made as a test to see how our mixer would be able to record all of us live for our first album, "Lead Elephant" (Which at this point in time hadn't been recorded yet). I (Nick) had joined the band just a few months prior to this and had finally contributed my first song in the band, called Ataraxia, while we also played the other Coeur songs Dylan and Ryan had wrote.
We were sloppy and messy, but overall, we had an amazing amount of fun. The days following would be filled with sickness from the flu (our drummer had it at the time, and you can definitely hear it taking a toll on him near the end of the practice), album recordings in my bedroom, and plenty of shows.
It feels bittersweet listening to this, and our immature, light hearted comments. It feels like a gateway (for me at least) into another time, where life was devoid of complications, responsibility and conflict, but was replaced with nothing more than just music.
